🌱 Sprite Garden opens very soon — your collection gets a home

The Sprite Garden is almost here — an in-game countdown points to it opening within about half a day (around Aug 22). It’s a personal island getaway where your whole Sprite collection lives: every Season 3 “Runners” Sprite is preserved automatically, every new Override Sprite is added the moment you get it, and none are ever erased when they go down in a match. You can play with, arrange and showcase your Sprites, and visit friends’ gardens. It’s the “kept forever” promise made literal — your Season 3 collection stays displayable here even though the new generation has taken over Battle Royale. Epic hasn’t posted an exact go-live time, so we’ve tagged this Tentative and will confirm the moment it’s live. In the meantime you can preview your own layout with the 🌱 Sprite Garden image under Share & export.

Chapter 7 Season 4 “Override” is here — what happens to your Sprites

Season 4 “Override” launches Aug 20 (v42.00 — downtime ~2 AM ET, servers back ~6 AM ET) with a whole new generation of Sprites. Here’s exactly what changes for collectors: (1) A new generation takes over Battle Royale — the fresh Override Sprites are what you find and use in BR this season; your Season 3 “Runners” Sprites are kept and shown but aren’t used in BR matches at launch (Epic says older generations “may return down the line”). (2) Nothing is lost — every Runners Sprite is preserved on your Collection page and in the new Sprite Garden hub, and lives on as Sprite Mastery Pod Back Bling styles + Guardian Outfit pilots. (3) Sprite Dust & Gizmos reset (“seasonal housekeeping”); the Sprites themselves don’t. (4) New ways to find Sprites, both inside and outside BR matches, plus leveling/extraction quality-of-life tweaks. New Override Sprites will be added to the tracker as they’re confirmed in-game.

Lucky Locator — guaranteed new-Sprite item (leaked)

A datamined item called the Lucky Locator is expected with the v41.30 update (~Jul 30). It reportedly grants a guaranteed shot at a Sprite you don’t already own — a big help for finishing your collection. Leaked and unconfirmed.

🔮UpcomingAug 19, 2026

Chapter 7 Season 3 ends Aug 19

Season "Runners" ends Aug 19, 2026 — wrap up your Battle Pass before Chapter 7 Season 4 “Override” launches the next day (Aug 20). Your Sprites are kept forever: your Runners Sprites live on in your Collection and the new Sprite Garden (and as Sprite Mastery Pod Back Bling styles + Guardian Outfit pilots). Two things change at the flip, though: a brand-new generation of Sprites takes over Battle Royale in Season 4, so your Runners Sprites are preserved and displayed but aren’t used in BR matches at launch (Epic says past generations “may return down the line”); and Sprite Dust & Gizmos reset (“seasonal housekeeping”) — the Sprites themselves don’t. Last call for the free Quack Zero Point too — it unlocks at 55 mastered Sprites before the season ends.

Ch 7 S4 “Override” (Aug 20) — the new-generation Sprite roster (art datamined)

Override — tagline “Break the rules, change the game” — launches Thursday, Aug 20 (v42.00, ~2 AM ET downtime, servers back ~6 AM ET) with a “Gaming Legends” theme and a full new generation of Sprites, all in the blocky “cube backpack” redesign. The v42.00 files reveal 12 new Sprites (with official art now in the tracker): the Sonic collab — Sonic, Tails and Shadow (internal codename “NarrowFlea”) — plus Klombo, Jonesy, Victory Crown, 8-Bit Blaster, Storm Scout, Killswitch, Bush Ranger, Jazz Jackrabbit and Dwarf. Each comes in Normal, Gold and the new season finish, Cheatmaster (a glitch/pixel look). Their existence and art are datamined-confirmed, but Epic hasn’t revealed abilities or rarities yet, so those stay marked unconfirmed. Other trailer collabs (Mega Man, Pac-Man, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Mortal Kombat, Persona 5’s Joker, Tetris) have skins but no confirmed dedicated Sprite. Your Season 3 Sprites are preserved in the Sprite Garden and your Collection, but this new generation takes over Battle Royale — old-gen Sprites aren’t used in BR matches at launch.

Gem Sprites appeared early via the Sprite Hunt rift — now disabled

Around the July 23 New Sprite Day, Gem Sprites were incorrectly obtainable through the Sprite Hunt rift anomaly before their intended release. Epic has temporarily disabled those early Gem items and turned off the anomaly while they sort it out — so Gem stays flagged unreleased here. No action needed on your end.

Sprite Spree Week — daily 24h finish-hours + free re-summons 💫

The final stretch of Season 3 is stacked. Aug 15: the “Unstable” Story Moment (2 PM ET) + Mythic Sprite Hours that evening. Then “Sprite Spree Week” starts Sunday, Aug 16 — a different finish appears far more often for a full 24 hours each day: Galaxy (Aug 16), Holofoil (Aug 17), Cube (Aug 18), Gem (Aug 19). Bonuses run all week: Sprite XP is doubled, and a campfire doubles it again to 4× (campfires are off in the Storm); Daily Quests grant a Lucky Sprite Locator each day that hunts a Sprite you haven’t found (then unmastered, then a random one — guaranteed when just one eligible Sprite is left); Bonus Quests hand out a free Gem Zero Point Sprite; and — confirmed by Epic — Sprites are free to (re-)summon with no Sprite Dust through the end of the season. Then Chapter 7 Season 4 “Override” launches Thursday, Aug 20 (~4 AM ET). The best week of the season to finish your Galaxy / Holofoil / Cube / Gem lines.

“Unstable” Story Moment + Mythic Sprite Hours 💀🔷

The season’s end-of-story live event, “Unstable,” is set for Saturday, Aug 15 at 2:00 PM ET — log in by 1:55 PM ET to watch it near the Zero Point Stabilizer. It kicks off Sprite Spree Week (see the roundup), with Mythic Sprite Hours that evening (~9 PM ET): Mythic Sprites spawn far more often, the regular Grim Reaper and Zero Point Sprites boosted the most. Loot quality is raised island-wide, everyone starts with a Self-Revive, and recovering a Sprite fully restores health & shields and grants the Slap effect. Community-sourced schedule; Epic hasn’t officially posted the closing event yet.

Gem Hours — boosted Gem Sprite spawns 💎

Gem Hours is the weekend Power Hour for the freshly dropped Gem Sprites — Saturday, Aug 8, in two 2-hour rounds: 2–4 PM ET and again 9–11 PM ET. Gem Sprite drop rates are boosted (and other variants show up more often), so it’s the best window to round out the nine-Sprite Gem set. Bonus: everyone starts with a Self-Revive Device, the loot pool goes full Mythic, and Mythic Goldfish appear in chests.

Rumors vs official notices — how to read this feed 📌

With Season 4 “Override” news pouring in, here’s how we tag it. Official notices (Epic) wear a green “· official” badge and come from Epic’s own channels — Fortnite Status, the Fortnite Communities posts, and in-game reveals; right now that covers Sprites staying forever, the Sprite Garden, and the Aug 20 “Override” launch. Rumors and leaks wear “· unofficial” (and a “Tentative” badge when the date or details aren’t locked) and come from reliable dataminers like HYPEX, ShiinaBR and @FN_Assist — currently the “Gaming Legends” new-Sprite roster (Sonic is trailer-confirmed; Tails, Jazz Jackrabbit, Klombo, Killswitch and more are leak-only), exact event times, and any new-Sprite names before they’re in-game. We cite a source on every item, keep the two clearly separated, and upgrade a rumor to official the moment Epic confirms it.

Hotfix: Water, Air & Zero Point Sprite sounds muted

A small Aug 7 hotfix temporarily disabled the sound effects for the Water, Air and Zero Point Sprites while Epic works out an audio issue. It’s cosmetic only — those Sprites still spawn, drop and work normally; just their SFX are muted for now. No action needed.

Official: Sprites are staying forever ♾️

Epic has confirmed the Sprite system is permanent — every Sprite you’ve collected is kept forever, and a full new generation arrives with each season. Chapter 7 Season 4 (“Override”) brings that new generation with new powers, new variants, quality-of-life improvements and new ways to find Sprites — both inside and outside Battle Royale matches. The headline is the Sprite Garden: a separate island getaway (a UEFN experience built with Fairview Portals & Beyond Creative) where you play with, showcase and organise your whole collection and visit friends’ gardens. Your Season 3 Sprites are preserved there automatically, every new Override Sprite is auto-added, and a Sprite that goes down in a match is never erased. S3 Sprites also stay on your Collection page (and surface as Sprite Mastery Pod Back Bling styles + Guardian Outfit pilots). Two important details: the new generation takes over Battle Royale — your Season 3 Sprites are kept and displayed but aren’t used in BR matches at launch (Epic says older generations “may return down the line”); and Sprite Dust & Gizmos reset when the season ends (the Sprites themselves don’t). “Staying forever” means kept in your collection/Garden, not carried into next season’s BR play.

Gem Sprites are LIVE — the full nine-Sprite set 💎

New Sprite Day is live (Aug 6, from the 9 AM ET / 6 AM PT reset): the Gem line has dropped, completing the nine-Sprite Gem set — Gem Water, Earth, Duck, Llama, Zero Point, Punk, Aura, Demon and Grim (Gem Aura and Gem Grim return from the vault too). Each Gem takes 30% less fall damage, stacking on top of the Sprite’s base ability. They come from Sprite Chests across the map, with boosted spawns today and again during Gem Hours on Aug 8. All nine are now marked obtainable in the tracker.

Ironmouse Sprite not granted on extraction — fixed

After Ironmouse’s Aug 4 return, Epic (Fortnite Status) confirmed a bug where extracting the Sprite didn’t grant it — it wouldn’t appear in your Collection or award Sprite Dust — and some Sprite Chests were coming up empty. Epic hotfixed it on Aug 5 and re-enabled Ironmouse in the loot pool, so extractions now grant the Sprite and its Dust as normal. If you extracted during the bug window, the missing Sprite/Dust should reconcile — check your Collection.

Design-a-Sprite winners revealed — 5 community Sprites next season

Epic has revealed the winners of its “Design-a-Sprite” contest (20,000+ entries) — five fan-made Sprites will be built into the game, each with its designer’s concept: Pond (Pine & Kiri) evolves egg → tadpole → frog, boosting speed & jump height and cutting fall damage; Bullet (Enorull) makes ammo boxes give extra ammo; Honey (Conejito_sam) spawns a beehive that swarms whoever damages you; Dumpster Dive (StinkyPrincessGoose) is a raccoon that finds loot when you hide in dumpsters; and X-Ray (Avila215) reveals nearby players like the old medallion. They arrive in a mid-season update during Chapter 7 Season 4 “Override” (abilities as designed — Epic may tweak them), and will be added to the tracker once they’re in-game.

Ironmouse Sprite is back 🐭

The Ironmouse Sprite has returned. It was only pulled because it went live earlier than intended just after v41.30 — now Epic has re-enabled it on Aug 4, timed to Ironmouse’s VTuber debut anniversary. It’s obtainable again from Relic Chests (when your health drops critically low: regenerate over time while gaining Cloak and low gravity). If you collected it during its short early window, it’s restored to your collection automatically at the level you last had it. No longer flagged “Vaulted” in the tracker. (Gem Grim is still vaulted for now.) Note: a brief extraction bug right after the return (Sprite not granted, empty chests, no Dust) was hotfixed by Epic on Aug 5 — see the known-issue entry.

Drop into Battle Royale or Zero Build during those hours and the Peeky Peely Sprite and its variants appear more often across the Island, giving you more chances to extract them and grow your collection. Peeky Peely emits a ping that reveals players carrying rare Sprites nearby (but marks you too). A Peely-packed bananza!

New Sprite Day is LIVE (v41.30): 20 new Sprites — the count hits 110 🍌

v41.30 is live with 20 new Sprites (roster now 110) — five bring new powers: Peeky Peely emits a ping revealing players with rare Sprites nearby (but marks you); Lootin’ Llama gives a chance to upgrade weapons from ammo boxes; the Ironmouse VTuber collab regenerates health while granting Cloak and low gravity when you drop low; and John Wick reveals nearby enemies after a knock or elimination (exclusive to Springfield Reloaded). New variants: full Gold/Gummy/Galaxy/Gem/Holofoil lines for Peely & Llama, Grim’s Gem + Holofoil, and Quack variants for Water, Earth, Fire & Zero Point. It’s the last major Chapter 7 Season 3 drop. Zero Point finishes: Cube & Holofoil are both obtainable 🔷

The two Zero Point Sprite finishes added in v41.30 (Jul 30) are now both obtainable in-game — Cube Zero Point and Holofoil Zero Point (confirmed in-game). Both hide in Vault / keycard Sprite Chests at brutal rates (Holofoil Zero Point is around 0.00028%), so you’ll want locked, high-security chests rather than ground loot. Both are now marked Available in the tracker, which completes every Zero Point finish. Zero Point remains the game’s rarest base Sprite (Mythic, ~0.00034%).
