🔄 Fortnite Sprites — Season 4 transition FAQ

Sprite Dust is a per-season currency, so it resets at each season flip — along with Portable Extractors and Lucky Locators. It’s “seasonal housekeeping,” not a bug. The Sprites you’ve collected are NOT reset — only the spendable currency and consumables. If you spent Dust on Loot Hacks you regret, Epic lets you reset those upgrades to refund the Dust.

Yes — every Sprite you’ve collected is kept forever. Your Season 3 roster is preserved in your Collection and in the new Sprite Garden, and it still shows up as Sprite Mastery Pod Back Bling styles and Guardian Outfit pilots. Nothing you earned is lost.

Each season starts a new generation of Sprites that takes over Battle Royale. So the Season 4 “Override” generation is what you find and use in BR now, while your Season 3 Sprites are kept and displayed rather than used in matches. Epic has said older generations “may return down the line.”

Carries over: the Sprites you’ve collected and their Mastery. Resets: Sprite Dust, Portable Extractors and Lucky Locators (the spendable currency and consumables). Think of it as keeping your collection but starting the season’s economy fresh.

Loot Hacks let you spend Sprite Dust to customise what drops from your own chests. The key point: Sprite Dust is earned by playing (extracting Sprites, duplicates, some codes) — it isn’t bought with real money, so it’s a progression system, not a paid advantage. And you can reset upgrades to reclaim your Dust, so it’s low-risk to experiment.

Season 3 “Runners” Sprites came from Sprite Chests. Season 4 “Override” Sprites come from in-world Cheat Codes / Cheat Code Chests (blue = Rare, purple = Epic, gold = Legendary), a recent update also lets Sprites drop from regular Chests, and Hack the Lobby codes unlock specific ones. The new Cheatmaster finish is code/quest-unlocked; Gold went live at Gold Hours.

Yes — Epic has said a new generation of Sprites arrives with each season, and the Sprite system is permanent. Your collection carries across all of them in the Sprite Garden, even as the Battle Royale generation rotates.
